A website needs to be secure not just in terms of passwords which we all know are an important makeup of any site. A site needs to be secured both for you and your customers. The steps necessary to secure a website are not always obvious.

At avery basic level the web server passwords should be kept in a secure place with access ristricted to those people who administer the server. Writing the web server password down is not a good idea and of course sharing this password with others is not a good course of action.

The actual password used should not really be based on a dictionary word but should contain both letters and numerical values and ideally be more than 6 characters long.

Website Vunerability

Just because you have a domain that does not attract a load of traffic do not think that this site is immune from a security attack.Even if the site is somewhat obscure it could still attract the attention of a potential security risk.

Maintaining a low key in terms of not bragging about the site is also a good idea.
